As part of our mission in advancing the status of women globally, we would like to call upon the members to support the following work by a prominent national organization Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP). The President Barbara Kasoff has this message:
"The tenor of conversation lately reflects an underlying acceptance of gender bias that we certainly believed was a generation behind us. The derogatory language about women is being heard from both ends of the
political spectrum, and this mindset has a negative impact on us as women business owners, our ability to get a seat at the table, as well as our
economic growth and continued leadership."
Barbara is suggesting the following actions:
1. Send the attached editorial by WIPP's Government Relations Ann Sullivan to your newspaper's editorial page and ask them to print it. This is the
only article that makes the link between the public debate and our economic impact. If you need the editor's contact info at your newspaper, please let
us know and we will provide it.
2. Please invite your friends to “join” TalkToUs2012 on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
3. Send this message to all of your friends and ask them to act on it,

Zonta International says "no to violence"

Preventing and ending violence against women and girls is a top priority for Zonta International and its 32,000 members in more than 1,200 Zonta clubs around the globe. Through the
Zonta International Strategies to End Violence Against Women (ZISVAW) program, Zonta International has assisted victims of violence and human trafficking around the globe by: raising awareness of, and improving education about, violence against women; promoting and enforcing local laws and policies that protect women and victims of violence; and providing medical, legal, rehabilitation and reintegration services for survivors of violence. Locally, Zonta clubs dedicate time and resources to supporting projects that prevent violence against women and support victims of violence in their communities.
Zonta International joins UNIFEM in asking members and friends of Zonta around the world to join the global call to make ending violence against women worldwide a top priority.

Zonta seeks to advance the status of women worldwide by improving the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women at the global and local levels through service and advocacy.
With the generosity and collective action of Zontians and friends around the world, Zonta International has supported projects in 46 countries, provided scholarships and awards to women around the globe, and been a powerful advocate for change in our local and international communities, thereby transforming the world and women's place in it.
